Happy Boy

We got a new camera so hopefully we will be back to our regular cute videos that I am sure you have missed so much. Here is the video that we took right before the camera broke. Doug is playing with James and he loves it! James' tooth count is now up to 5 when he got a new tooth on Monday on the bottom, so his cute vampire smile is still intact.

Crazy Night

Last night was one of the biggest "struggles" we've had getting James to eat and go to bed. It started when we tried to give him a bottle at 9:00 as usual. He ate for a minute then discovered that if he shook the bottle the formula would splash out onto his face. He thought it was so much fun and his face was covered in milk after a while. Then he decided to try and splash mom with the bottle, but it didn't work to well. After that it was all about playing. He could not sit still long enough to eat anything. He would crawl over, take a sip of his bottle then be off again. He had a lot of things to do like, standing in the bed of his dump truck, pushing a book around the kitchen, climb on the fire place, practice walking, take all the toys out of his toy bin and of course he had to keep coming back for some "sips" from his bottle. Finally after 45 minutes we decided he was not going to eat the entire bottle and put him to bed. It wasn't until I was falling asleep later that I realized the cause of his activity, we had given him a handful of "sugar" cereal.

Doug has been working with James on his walking. He is pretty good but doesn't really have the patience for it. Crawling is much faster at this point and we have too much to do to waste time learning how to walk. He has really done some cute blog worthy things lately and we are missing our video camera.

We got a Wii

Well after waiting and looking we finally found a Wii. We had actually stoped looking and decided to go to Best Buy last night to look at cameras. We saw a guy unpacking boxes and decided to ask. To our surprise he said, "Yes, we do have some. Do you want me to go get you one?" They had just gotten a shipment that night. We had just decided to spend our Christmas money on something else. So last night we played all of the games. I actually beat Doug at half of them, although he will get better a lot faster. It is a lot of fun and my arm is actually a little sore today from playing last night. Now we just have a list of all the other fun games and stuff we want to get.

Enjoying the Sun

We still don't have a video camera but here are some really cute pictures that I have taken of James this week. Doug gave me this body pillow for Valentines Day, I love it a lot, but James and Loa really love it. James loves anything that feels soft and can't seem to keep his hands off of it.

James is so busy playing all the time. As you can probably tell he loves to take everything off the shelves and make a huge mess. In this picture he took all his toys off the shelf and was trying to go in there. He loves "caves".
We have been having a lot of sunny afternoons. Loa loves to find a sunny spot on the carpet and just lay there. James and Loa also like to look out the window. Today they were looking out the window and James decided that he needed to be sitting up like Loa, so he climbed up to sit on top of the couch. It was pretty cute.
One other thing, we have been calling James our little Vampire. Unknow to us, James cut two new teeth. I found them one day while digging something out of his mouth. But they are not the top front teeth like we were expecting, they are the two teeth next to the top front teeth. So he looks pretty cute with a big gap in his teeth. But I see some bumps where the front teeth are coming and his lower gums are white where he looks to be getting two bottom teeth. So soon he should have 8 teeth.

Broken Camera

I guess it will be awhile before we are able to post any videos. I was taking a video of James and Dad (it was really cute too!) I turned the camera off and handed it to Doug and it wouldn't turn back on. When I shake it I can hear something rattle, so I think it's broken, but I don't know how. I guess we will take it somewhere to see if we can get it fixed but if not we are going to have to get a new one. Our other camera still works but the screen doesn't so it is kind of like taking pictures with an old film camera. We don't know what the picture will look like until we put it on the computer.

James' favorite place to play is the laundry room. If we open the door he tries to crawl in there so fast. We cannot keep him out of there. He usually goes and plays with the paint stuff (we still have to finish the basement) notice the paint brush in his hand. The other day I couldn't hear him anymore so I went to see him (he also likes to play in the dog's bowls) and he had climbed in Loa's cage. Loa was yelling at him and looking at us to get him out. She gets pretty upset when he plays with her stuff. I guess she thinks that because she can't play with his stuff he shouldn't be allowed to play with hers. Doug tries very hard to teach her that James is dominate over her.

Here is an old video. I wasn't going to put it on here because it is so long, but I wanted to have a video for everyone to watch. James had pulled the broom down and was playing with it. Loa hates the broom (and vacuum) so she was "yelling" at it. This is on the day that James got sick so he didn't really care too much about anything.

Feeling Better

Doug and I went to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse on Friday. James got to stay home with a babysitter, but he loved it! I think those were the most expensive steaks we've ever eaten, but it was really good.

James is feeling much better this week. He actually wore the same outfit all day! He has his energy back which is good but it was nice to have a semi-calm baby for a while. I guess I forgot how busy he keeps me. He has been into everything today and back to doing his favorite things.

He loves to crawl in the corner and play with the lamp, or whatever else might be in the corner.

Climbing the stairs and playing with the gate at the top. We have to be very careful to make sure it is closed all the way. Doug and I don't know when he learned it but he can now crawl down the stairs. He was sitting on the stairs with Dad yesterday and went up and suddenly he was back with Doug. Today I watched him crawl down half a flight of stairs so he could come help with the dishes.

He loves playing with his Tonka truck Grammy and Granddad gave him.

And the newest of the things he loves is taking all the books off of the book shelves, and anything else that might be on it.

Disclaimer

Loa did not put the cracker in her mouth. I know it looks like she did but she didn't. I don't really know if it would matter if she did based on how much she licks him anyway.
