James Loves Water
I kept trying to get a picture of his dirty little face. But he was pretty stubborn and wouldn't look at the camera, so these are the best I have.

No Cute Videos!
http://www.blurb.com
This is a fun website that you download the program then you can create books with your photos or blog or whatever. The prices are not that bad either.
http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/
This is a website of a woman who puts recipes that she creates on it. They seem to be pretty simple and sound really good. Two that I would like to try are Pineapple Shrimp Skewers, and Apricot bars. Her directions can be a little annoying but the directions seem to be very complete and easy to follow.

Bruises, Parties, and a Near Escape from a Fire
We have had a great Mother's Day! James had a new nickname, Monkey Doodle, and we have gotten lots of comments on how busy his is at church. His new favorite game is to climb the stairs like a big boy. No more crawling up the stairs for him, we have to walk. So his new favorite game is having Mom help him climb the stairs and when we go up Mom says "Up" and when we go down James says, "Dow" it is pretty cute. He also loves to give leg hugs. He always walks up to us and wraps his arms around our legs. It is so cute. We just love having James around. He is such a fun kid!

Rules of Milk
Rules of Milk
1. No matter how inconvenient it may be, milk is the last item in the shopping cart.
2. Once the milk is in the shopping cart we are not allowed to stop and get anything else. Even if it is right on the way to the checkout line.
3. Depending on how long the line is we may have to go and switch for "new" milk.
4. Once the milk is in the car there are no stops on the way home, no matter how fast they may be.
5. Once we are home milk is the first thing out of the car. (Yes, even before James)
6. We do not buy milk at Smith's. It doesn't taste the same.
7. Milk goes directly in the fridge. It does not get set on the counter.
8. When using milk you take it out, pour what you need, and put it directly back in the fridge. Milk should never touch the counter.
9. If you take longer then 10 minutes to drink your milk you are scolded for wasting the milk and if you then finish the milk you are asked, "How can you drink that rotten, festering milk?"
10. If you are going to have multiple bowls of cereal you pour some milk over your cereal and some in a cup to use on your future bowls of cereal. No need to take the milk out of the fridge twice!
11. The last glass of milk from the carton is disgusting. But not as disgusting as it would be had we not followed the milk rules.
It has taken me some time to learn and follow all the rules correctly. Doug often finds me rolling my eyes at some of his rules. He then reminds me of rule #11. So I had to laugh when I went to the fridge one day and found these labels cut out from the box that the milk comes in and stuck in front of the milk in the fridge.

Little Stinker!
Today we saw that James can walk, on his own holding onto nothing. He was wearing his cute overalls he got for his birthday and wanted Dad to walk with him. Doug decided to just hold him by his overalls then let go. When he let go, James walked. Not just a few steps either. He walked into the kitchen turned around and walked back. So the little stinker has been able to walk for who knows how long and just wouldn't. Now that we know he has been walking a lot more on his own.

Look Who's 1!
James also got a new car seat for his birthday. He looks like such a big boy sitting in his big boy seat. He loves to be able to watch mom and dad while we are in the car.
Today we went to the doctor. He weighs 20 lbs 13 oz. Still in the 25th percentile but big enough for his big boy car seat so that's ok. He is 30 in tall which is still in the 75th percentile. He is now allowed to eat whatever he wants, including peanut butter, and honey. So for dinner he had a PBJ sandwhich. He didn't eat much, just sucked on the bread and then fed the rest to the dog. She also suggested putting a little chocolate in his milk to get him to drink more. It has been so hard to get him to drink anything. She says that he probably needs about 20 oz of liquid a day and we are struggling to get him to dring 12-15.
Some facts about James:
